There’s nothing the wedding world loves more than a royal wedding, all the pomp and circumstance, secrecy in the months leading up to the big day--and of course, the fashion. The upcoming nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surely won’t disappoint, especially with Markle’s fashion-forward sense of style. We can’t wait to see how she bridges her modern aesthetic with a gown that meets the traditional expectations of the monarchy--and is approved by the Queen Mother.
Naturally, designers and bridal aficionados are abuzz about who will design the duchess-to-be’s wedding gown. Rumor has it that she’s already decided and has begun the design process. We caught up with a few of our favorite designers including Olvi's, Rime Arodaky and Morilee to get their thoughts on what the future royal should wear on her walk down the aisle and we picked our favorite wedding gowns that are fit for any bride who wants to feel like a modern day princess.
“Having dressed Miss Markle in the past, I know her style is very sleek and subtly romantic. I envision a lot of twisted bandeau, clean cuts and knee-length hems for a fresh take for the royal wedding dress.” --Rime Arodaky

“I envision Miss Markle in something elegant and not revealing with subtle details to emphasize the female body and celebrate femininity. Elegance for a young sophisticated royal bride.” --Olvi
“I’m envisioning some modern embroidery mixed with vintage lace, as well as an illusion neckline and sleeves. A traditional, yet contemporary design to match Miss Markle’s inner beauty.” --Morilee
