Bon Appetit: Rustic Wine Country Wedding Decor
Monday, March 10 2014
We have fallen head over heels for Designer Specialty Linens newest Luxe collection, which just debuted last week featuring one-of-a-kind patterns and textiles. And to inspire couples in the planning stages, eight wedding event designers and florists collaborated to create beautiful and unique tabletop decor based on these stunning linens and debuted their visions at Long Beach's newest reception venue, The Loft on Pine.
With the idea of a backyard dinner party in mind, Amber events set out to create a warm environment that one would want to linger over a beautiful dinner and a delicious Cabernet. The obvious backdrop to this vision, was Designer Speciality Linen's Bohemian linen in red. "Contrary to its name the linen is a very opulent, so we wanted to create a dinner table that rang true to the Amber Events brand: lovely and romantic, yet playful and relaxed," explains the Los-Angeles based design team of Amber and Nira. "We also wanted to show off the rich tablecloth and so we kept our design intentionally simple, and realistically doable for people to be able to imitate."
The team brought in earthy textures: wooden vineyard chairs, wood menus with a name card attached vi a vine, and a single, but striking stone urn filled with florals. The centepiece was bursting with deeply hued florals of privet berry, white poppies, burgundy dahlias, poppy pods, wild berries, penstemon, hellebores, ferns, and passion fruit vine was elegant yet incredibly relaxed. "For a bit of a different pattern on the table we made napkins out of pillow-ticking canvas and also used that fabric to tear strips to make ribbon to tie passion fruit vines on the back of the chairs."
