Melissa & Gary

Friday, September 16 2011

Two years after Melissa Arana and Gary Oakland locked eyes in Las Vegas, they brought the same magic of that fateful meeting to their summer evening wedding at the picturesque Church Estate. Inspired by the property’s French-style chateau, the celebration combined a timeless elegance with the warmth of Provence.

Their 75 guests were greeted with fresh lemonade and then watched the vows on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The evening was about enjoying delicious food and fine wines with close friends, starting with an artisan cheese and wine pairing. Dinner was set at one long table on the grand bridge, dressed with red roses, fresh herbs and lavender, and wrought iron fleur de lys; the airy canopy and chandeliers added a touch of true sophistication while the waterfall rushed beneath them.

Guests enjoyed dessert crepes before heading to the boathouse for lakeside dancing to a live big band sound. The classy, heartfelt night didn’t end there for the newlyweds—after spending the night in the property’s guest cottage, they woke up to a romantic breakfast for two set by the stream, the perfect start to their happily ever after.
