Escort cards, table numbers, menus, party favors—there are so many moments that can showcase the story of a couple. The key to making a wedding unique is to incorporate passions, hobbies, common interests and even relationship details or significant moments. “Personal touches are special because they allow the couples to connect with their guests and have a wedding that isn’t anyone else’s,” explains Santa Barbara’s Davia Montoya of Davia Lee Events.

For a couple that was moving into a new home, Lee created an unusual guestbook by creating a station for guests to pen a wish on a Spanish tile for the couple. The tiles then became a part of the couple’s home decor, incorporated into door frames, staircase, fireplace and even used as coasters. Other ways to add meaning to your wedding can be as simple as adding family photos to the gift table, escort card station or opt for a customized cake toppers—whether it be sculptures of the couple, a favorite sports team or simply including a beloved pet.
