Creating a union between a couple’s style and the decor—from the catering menu to the bride’s shoes—is an accomplishment that elevates a wedding to the next level. Photographer Kimberlee Miller, XO Bloom’s Sarah Z and Command Performance Catering’s Annette Kirkhuff and Annette Baldwin combined forces to create a sun-dappled, navy-and white-striped palette cinched together with touches of twine at the Westlake Yacht Club in Westlake Village. Soft blushes and hints of orange add a sunset flair to the florals, while a chic seafood menu—including fish and chips served in wooden crates and bite-size lobster rolls—bring a seaside influence.

Elizabeth Mackenzie Designs’ delicate, cap-sleeved wedding gown is accented with a navy-and-white grosgrain ribbon for a subtle nautical touch and enhanced by Kate Spade espadrilles while the groom compliments in navy Friar Tux suit and gray-striped bowtie. In keeping with the theme, hairstylist Kathleen Hagan created a loose, waterfall braid for the bride’s look, while the groom’s striped bow tie complements the bridal attire. Thick sailing rope plays a subtle role as the binding on the bouquet and boutonnière as well as masquerading as fondant on the wedding cake’s top layer.
