Christine and Michael started their wedding journey with an engagement while on vacation in Peru. As they were walking around the city of Cusco after a day full of hiking, they stopped at a fountain to take a photo. Michael pulled out a ring and dropped down on one knee to propose to Christine, who was beyond surprised. Michael also surprised Christine by hiring a photographer for the night to take their engagment photos and booking a room for the night at a beautiful, historic hotel in the city center complete with champagne. The couple kept the theme of romance in planning their wedding day at Casa Romantica in San Clemente. The ceremony was held on the romantic ocean terrace, which overlooks the San Clemente Pier and expansive ocean with waves on the beach below. The Spanish-inspired courtyard was the perfect setting for the reception, with beautiful archways and abundant greenery. Christine chose to incorporate her Chinese heritage into the wedding by selecting red as their main color of inspiration, as red symbolizes luck and joy in Chinese culture. She wore two gowns throughout the evening, one white and the other red, and the bridesmaids wore dresses in shades of red, burgundy, dark purple and blush. Little Hills Floral Design completed the elegant space with stunning floral arrangements and décor. Christine and Michael were surrounded by family and friends, many of whom honored the couple with speeches. The guests enjoyed ice cream sandwiches for dessert and danced late into the night.
