This European-Style Wedding Was A Rom-Com Dream Come True
A rom-com dream come true is how Jennifer Parker described her vision when it came time to plan her wedding to Jonathan Parker. After all, their meeting could have been the plot of a movie, considering they were matched on a dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel, in 2014. Jennifer signed off by sending out a message to all her matches who had her contact info. Two years later, Jonathan texted her and asked her out. For Jon, it was love at first sight, and after eight months of dating, he popped the question on Valentine’s Day during a trip to Napa Valley. When it came to the wedding, Jennifer envisioned a celebration of life and love with a French blue palette blended with French- and Tuscan-inspired design. The couple adored Cielo’s gorgeous outdoor setting with its amazing views, but wanted to transform the somewhat rustic setting into a luxurious and glamorous space. Jackie Dumouchel of Lotus and Lily Floral and Event Design and Star Hansen Events joined forces to design a stunning event with a mix of clean modern design and romantic European influences. They incorporated Jennifer’s favorite colors into the design by using whites, creams, blush and pale blues for the ceremony and guest dining tables, and then adding bolder colors, such as fuchsia, violet and blue, to the cocktail-hour venue, reception lounges and bar area. Butterflies could be found everywhere, from Jennifer’s veil to small, hand-crafted versions on the seating chart and behind the bar as a tribute to Jennifer’s late grandmother. Jonathan and his groomsmen wore iris boutonnieres to honor his late mother. To keep their guests cool and to add a playful element, Jennifer and Jon chose boozy ice pops of their signature drinks (spicy Paloma for her, Moscow mule for him), which were served during the cocktail hour.
