Upon meeting Jennifer Heyl and Elliott Parks, Alexandra Rembac of Sterling Engagements in Los Angeles was inspired by their long-distance love story. “It truly flew them away to cloud nine,” says Rembac about the couple’s relationship, which began when the former high schoolers reconnected on Facebook. Jennifer was living in Walled Lake, MI., while Elliott had settled in Dana Point. Rembac’s sky-high vision was melded with Jennifer’s dream of a feminine fairy tale. Malibu Rocky Oaks, perched atop the Santa Monica Mountains with never-ending views and blue skies, was the perfect place. Rembac filled the wedding with neutral and blush tones and wove in the angel wing theme, as seen in the place cards, ice sculpture, desserts and on the flower girls. Florist Shawna Yamamoto Event Design created a magical setting by incorporating pampas grass and blush garden roses into the ceremony and the couple’s sweetheart table. As a nod to Jennifer’s career as dermatologist, Rembac included a whimsical escort card display of lidocaine bottles filled with blooms and prescription labels. The final touch was Jennifer’s feather Jimmy Choo shoes.
