A Big, Beautiful Greek Wedding at the historic Vibiana

Nicole and Bobby wanted a romantic and festive evening that melded modern design with Old World traditions. Vibiana’s grand vaulted ceilings and dramatic baroque columns provided the perfect backdrop for the elegant Greek-influenced reception, which featured gold detailing, soft blush tones and an abundance of candlelight.

Guests were served a perfect blend of new and old: The mother of the groom’s homemade spanakopitakia and kalitsounia (spinach and cheese pies, respectively) were paired with a chic new American menu from famed chef Neal Fraser that gave nods to Greek cuisine, including braised beef short rib with oven-roasted mushrooms, parsley, lemon and feta alongside herb roasted fingerling potatoes.

The bride and groom flew in a folk band from a small village in Crete to perform traditional songs and music. “In Crete, the first dance is the bride's dance,” explains Nikole. “Family and friends throw money and take turns dancing with the bride. It is not unusual for the first dance to last 20–40 minutes.” But at their wedding, the first dance lasted almost an hour! 

Every detail, from the flowing candles to the overflowing floral arrangements, were pure perfection. But what we are loving the most are the beautiful shots of the couple by Mi Belle Photography--so dreamy!
