Danielle & Jared: A Glamorous Black Tie Affair at Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards
On a perfectly clear, blue-skied day in May, Danielle Kelton and Jared Spoko were married at the breathtaking Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards in Malibu, California. Their venue was not only stunning, but unique as their ceremony took place atop a helipad, surrounding their guests and nuptials with 360 degrees of the Santa Monica Mountains. The couple chose to have their guests seated in a circle around them so to see each of their smiling faces and shining eyes as they said their I-do’s.
Delicate touches from the couple made their special day even more personal as Danielle’s bouquet had several family heirloom brooches scattered within her flowers. Each bridesmaid was also given vintage flower brooches for their own bouquets. Jared had his hand at making their day truly unique by designing all of the printed materials for their wedding, including a family crest he designed for their new family.
Cocktail hour promptly followed the ceremony where guests were able to take photos in front of a custom backdrop and view vintage wedding photos of the couple’s families four generations past. Their reception was nothing short of glamorous as the black-tie affair was adorned with Great Gatsby-era accents. Guests each found their table assignments on mini champagne bottles which all had tags designed by the groom stating, “Emergency champagne: open only in case of impending romance.”
Dinner was served outdoors where guests were seated at long, poolside tables, each romantically lit with sterling silver and crystal candelabras. The couple’s cake was three beautifully colored tiers of metallic gold and white art deco patterned embellishments, finished off with a custom Gatsby inspired moon cake topper. An eight piece band entertained the celebration with 60’s and 70’s dance hits long into the night. The grand finale of the night struck at midnight when gold and silver balloons dropped from the ceiling onto the party as feather headdresses and costume pearls were passed out to all of the guests.
