Elegant Scottish Inspired Wedding in Pasadena

Inseparable ever since meeting their freshman year of college, Hayley and Andrew Boaz wanted their wedding to be every bit as special as their love story.

Finding a balance between elegance and intimacy was important, since this couple wanted to share their vision of a black tie wedding with their closest family and friends. The reception was held in Hayley’s parent’s backyard, in order to create the intimate and comfort feeling desired. The menus were customized with each guests name so that they could also be used as table assignments. The beautiful roses and elegant antler chandelier raised the bar on this backyard wedding to embody the formal event Hayley and Andrew always dreamed about.

They knew that their shared Scottish heritage was the perfect theme to unite them on their wedding day. They used small details, like the bagpipe player and the Scottish shortbread as favors, to really pull the theme together. But what really brought the décor to life was the use of plaid. Combining their families’ Scottish heritage and klans’ plaid, Hayley and Andrew created a unique pattern for their new family. Hayley wanted the plaid to play an important part of their special day, but didn’t want it to be overbearing, so it was used as table runners and worn by the little ring bearers.
