Jeffrey & Matthew: An Elegant Sunday Barbecue at Peninsula Hotel
Marriage was never a necessity for Michael and Jeffrey. But after the birth of their twins and the right to legally marry restored, Michael and Jeffrey decided it was time to tie the knot. Their one absolute was that their wedding take place on their anniversary--the day they met 17 years ago. The couple's twins, Sophia and Nate, stood up for them on their big day, "We knew we were taking a chance with spunky spitfires like our kids, but they enjoyed the occasion and the attention."
Since their date fell on a Sunday wedding, Michael and Jeffry decided on a family-style cocktail party-meets-summer BBQ theme. But being their big day, elegance and warmth were key. Luna Garden's rustic, earthy and elegant designs gave the Peninsula's Verandah Room the feeling of a cozy backyard party in Napa Valley.
The Peninsula's Executive Chef, David Codney, added a sophisticated edge to the Sunday BBQ theme with a menu of corn fritters with a bacon hollandaise sauce, quinoa tacos in bibb lettuce, South Carolina mustard-infused grilled chicken, lemon seared sea bass, or a coffee-rubbed roasted tri-tip with homemade barbecue sauce.
