Megan & David: Classic Country Club Elegance in Los Angeles

Simple, elegant and classic--with a hint of preppy. This is what we love about college sweethearts Megan and David's wedding at the Los Angeles County Club. And we're pretty head over heels for the bride's Lazaro gown, as well. Tasked by the bride to help create a wedding that was "intimate, timeless, and fun" Kerrie Underhill of Platinum Weddings by Kerrie went to work fulfilling the dream. Megan opted for a palette of navy and silver with hints of blush and ivory. "We used a lot of navy blue and white grosgrain ribbon throughout the wedding," says bride Megan. " As accent bows on silver trays on the dessert table, wrapped around the stems of all of the wedding and bridesmaid bouquets, wrapped around the dinner menus on the guests’ tables, and used in various places to hang wedding signs (calligraphy), including a basket full of ivory parasols for the guests to shade themselves during the outdoor ceremony."

The stunning ceremony structure , a square floral arch, was decorated with lemon leaves and hydrangeas, with nosegays down the aisle with hydrangea, lemon leaves, and roses. There were iceberg rose bushes in urns on both sides of the arch and at the foot of the altar. The outdoor cocktail tables had arrangements of hydrangea and roses in silver mint julep cups, and the reception dinner tables’ floral centerpieces were silver urns filled with light pink hydrangea, romance roses, a touch of vendella, blush pink roses, and white stock.

And personal touches abound, says Megan. "Some of my favorite details from the wedding were the personalized framed pictures that were placed at the place settings of the bride and groom’s parents, siblings, and wedding party. When they sat down, they found individual picture frames with photos of themselves with the bride or groom from different parts of life. For example, the father of the bride had a picture of him and his daughter when she was five years old during a trip to Martha’s Vineyard; David’s best man had one of him and David in a kindergarten play. Everyone got to take their picture frame home with them at the end of the evening and guests crowded around the head table all evening to look at the pictures."
