Venue Report: City Club Los Angeles

Spring Summer 2015

Something old is new again in downtown LA. When the City Club, a historic business club, moved from a Bunker Hill building after 25 years, it left behind the dark woods and gentlemanly design. Reborn on the top floor of the financial district’s City National building, the club features textured, lush and modern spaces with a dash of Hollywood regency (pinstriped carpet, chandeliers and tufted couches) and Jonathan Adler influences (tree-shaped columns).

The space boasts tremendous views from skyline to sea, private rehearsal-dinner rooms and a gray-and-pearlescent ballroom that can accommodate up to 350. Sip screwdrivers and play shuffleboard for cocktail hour in the silver screen-inspired Aperture bar. Being a member has privileges including discounts on hosting soirees, but nonmembers are also welcome.
