We couldn't be more excited to share photos from our Best of 2018 gala held at downtown Los Angeles’s historic Vibiana, which celebrated the Golden State’s chic and eclectic style, from San Diego to Silicon Valley. California Wedding Day hosted more than 500 of Southern California's top wedding industry professionals to celebrate the finalists for Best of 2018—and announce the winners. Under the helm of our audacious leader, Lisa Khan of Lisa Khan Events and Jason Rhee of Rheefined Events, with incredible support from Rayce Pr, we joined forces with a talented team of vendors (see list below) to create a quintessential Californian experience … all the way from the 405 to 101 to Mulholland Drive and all the way down the PCH.

DESTINATION: PALM SPRINGS
The stylish little SoCal city of Palm Springs is a desert oasis filled with palm trees, flamingos and a blast of colorful hues. Inspired by the lobby at the Viceroy Palm Springs, At Your Door Events created a mid-century modern aesthetic to represent the city’s relaxed retro vibe with a pink bar and custom hedge wall along with gorgeous vintage velvet green chairs and sofas from Edge Design Decor, which were accented by colorful pillows and throws. To compliment the furniture, Flower Duet  assembled amazing floral arrangements and displays that included a mixture of succulents, sand and Tibet roses. A centralized glass coffee table featured a palm pod and various thematic decor while oversized cactuses from Jackson Shrub provided a stunning backdrop for the space. To enhance the Palm Springs vibes, guests were gifted custom tie-dyed tees.

DESTINATION: LOS ANGELES
It’s no secret that Los Angeles has become has a mecca for murals. As a nod to the streets of LA, At Your Door Events integrated vibrant and lively art into the space, including a composition of a woman’s face, representing the many female-led wedding businesses. Menus by Social Savvy complimented the art, featuring the same colors and patterns as the graffiti backdrop. The Sugar Philosopher provided the table number, an acrylic laser-cut silhouette of the Los Angeles skyline. To capture the urban spirit of DTLA, tables were set with tin material chargers stacked with black and white marble plates and set with silver and gold flatware and sleek, modern drinkware. Inspired by wire-fences, wire-welded mesh served as napkin rings and vibrant florals complimented the graffiti scenery. Flower Duet fabricated a stand-alone backdrop made out of lush flowers and botanicals symbolizing the heart of DTLA. To enhance the edgy, urban feel of the space, a temporary air-brush tattoo station by Artistic LA was offered to guests wishing to express their inner creativity

DESTINATION: HOLLYWOOD
Anything is possible in Hollywood! Tinseltown is where starlets become stars and nine white letters become a universal metaphor for your dreams. Inspired by the city of stars, Bob Gail Events provided a 6’ Hollywood sign and an oversized Director’s Chair to compliment a customized “Walk of Fame.” Flower Duet complimented the look with dynamic centerpieces featuring top hats bursting with roses, hydrangeas and anemones as a tribute to Old Hollywood. At Your Door Events used a complimenting director’s desk and chairs to represent power and success. And to add to the vintage vibes of Classic Hollywood, a shoe shine station allowed guests to experience what it is like to step into the shoes of an A-lister.

Guests that needed to refuel had plenty of gourmet options from Chef Neal Fraser's culinary team from tray-passed hors d'oeuvres that included crostinis, crispy artichokes, Vietnamese watermelon salad and duck prosciutto to fully loaded gourmet dinner stations themed to each destination. And of course, sweet treats were served up by The Butter End.
