White Wedding at Carneros Resort and Spa Highlights Purity and Happiness

Alexa Gutman and Joe Goldman fell in love surrounded by the sprawling vineyards and Northern Californian beauty of Napa Valley, where they often escaped for weekend getaways from Los Angeles early in their relationship. It was on an overseas trip to France in March 2022 that Joe popped the question, and immediately the couple knew they wanted to set their wedding in the sanctuary of vineyards that was the backdrop to their love story. And Carneros Resort and Spa proved the ideal venue. The design plan presented refined and minimalist elegance, perfect for a couple who prefers neutral shades and timeless décor. The couple brought religious elements into their ceremony to pay homage to their Jewish backgrounds and families. An elegant floral chuppah adorned with white blooms was the focal point of the ceremony, and they drank from both parents’ heirloom kiddush cups. At the close of the ceremony, Joe stomped on a glass, a tradition that symbolizes the fragility and special nature of their relationship. Florals for the entire event followed a monochromatic white theme, and featured combinations of roses, hydrangeas, delphinium, scabiosa and calla lilies. In keeping with that color scheme, Alexa walked down the aisle holding a bouquet of lily of the valley, a symbol of happiness and purity. The atmosphere of the post-ceremony dinner was reminiscent of a party at their home, with an emphasis on warmth. The décor featured wooden chairs, off-white accents and chocolate-brown chargers. Later in the evening, Alexa and Joe changed into custom Golden Goose sneakers they had designed on a trip to Italy that featured their wedding date and initials.
