Bathed in the familiar fog that blankets San Francisco, Ashleigh and Joe gathered their favorite people for an exceptionally meaningful vow renewal. Hosted at the ornate Flood Mansion, the celebration featured a palette of saturated crimson and warm gold—a stylish wink to Joe's lifelong loyalty to the 49ers.
The couple first met in Hawaii in 2016 while Joe served in the Army and Ashleigh worked as a counselor. Their relationship deepened while going long distance, carrying them through deployments, a wedding ceremony, an overseas move to Germany and the arrival of their two children. Then, just after retiring from the Army in 2024, Joe was diagnosed with Stage 4 glioblastoma—cancer.
Instead of letting the diagnosis define their story, they chose to create a new chapter surrounded by their own community. With the help of Wish Upon a Wedding and Taylor Rae Weddings, more than 40 vendors came together to gift an extraordinary day for the family—complete with lush floral installations, dramatic scarlet stationery and a surprise signed helmet from the groom's favorite 49ers players, George Kittle and Fred Warner.
Arrangements in deep wine hues marked the aisles and the altar, which boasted regal columns and sweeping views of the City by the Bay. The reception included escort cards designed like NFL tickets, two signature mocktails ("Faithful Fizz" and "Passion Punch") and a two-tiered cake in various shades of red with gold detailing and a small football figurine atop the artful confection.
The evening was knit together with both tears and laughter. The night's end saw their loved ones dancing with David, their son, and their daughter, Stella, twirling around in loving bliss.
