Luscious Armenian Wedding with Old World Glamour at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

Forming a friendship when they were 12 years old, Inga Keshishyan and Sahak Keshishyan began a relationship that has evolved into a beautiful romance over time. Their strong bond led to a confident proposal by Sahak, who lovingly placed a ring on Inga’s finger while stating, “You’re going to marry me.” In keeping with their shared Armenian heritage, their ceremony was held at an Armenian church, where they observed their culture’s religious customs and traditions, such as including their knkahayr, (“godfather”), who played a key role in the ceremony by being a mentor to the couple during the wedding and afterward, into their marriage. Initially intending to celebrate their nuptials in Lake Como, Italy, Sahak and Inga instead chose the Italian-villa-inspired Hummingbird Nest Ranch for their reception, allowing their guests to attend closer to home. The event’s design complemented the venue’s old-world charm with lush floral arrangements, arches draped in greenery and an abundance of white roses. Sparkling crystal chandeliers hung overhead from trees, while gorgeous lit candles created a romantic ambiance. During the celebration, other cultural traditions were followed, including the shabash, a custom in which attendees throw money to the couple as they dance; and a performance by Armenian singer Ara Martirosyan—who has since passed away—making the celebration even more memorable. Chico Castillo, “The Gipsy,” also gave a lively performance at the party, turning the dance floor into a scene of unforgettable celebration.
