The inaugural WIPA National Conference brought the wedding industry to Frisco, Texas, for several days of inspired design, thoughtful education and meaningful connection at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa. Set against sweeping golf course views and the resort’s polished Texas hospitality, the conference felt less like a traditional industry gathering and more like a creative immersion. For Iron Diamond Media, it was an opportunity to reconnect with longtime friends, meet new wedding professionals from across the country and beyond, and share a glimpse of what is next for the brand.
“Attending the first WIPA National Conference was exactly what I needed to feel re-inspired for the rest of 2026 and excited about what’s ahead in 2027. I walked away with so many new connections, incredible conversations, and fresh perspectives on our wedding industry. But my favorite part will always be the people. I love watching others succeed, hearing the stories behind what they’ve built and seeing firsthand what can happen when someone takes an idea and builds it from the ground up. Being surrounded by so many people doing exactly that was incredibly inspiring, and I left feeling excited about what's ahead!" -- Brittany O'Neil, Iron Diamond Group Publisher
From the moment guests arrived, WIPACon set an elevated but welcoming tone. Registration became its own experience with custom gifting, WIPA merchandise and personalized details woven throughout the afternoon. Magnify Coffee Catering kept the energy high with specialty drinks, while Standard Issue Collective embroidered custom scarves and Mon Sherri Ink created engraved mirrors and money clips. It was an easy, unhurried introduction to the conference, where conversations began organically and new connections were already being made before the first official event.

A Bohemian Western Welcome
The opening night celebration embraced the natural beauty of Texas through a distinctly editorial lens. Fulton Events and Petal Productions drew inspiration from the texture of a horsehair braid, creating a bohemian Western setting that moved between dark, moody interiors and a softer outdoor palette illuminated by amber light. Cowhide, sculptural bars, custom linens and layered textural details were accompanied by tasty Texas barbecue, Ranch Waters and playful desserts. As the evening unfolded, the design became a backdrop for what WIPACon was really about: conversation, connection and the energy of being surrounded by creatives who understand the wedding industry from every angle.

Education, Inspiration + Color
The first full day paired business education with immersive design. Following breakfast, Daymond John took the stage for a keynote that set the tone for a day of panels, breakout sessions and conversations centered on growth, creativity and the realities of entrepreneurship. At lunch, the atmosphere shifted into a saturated garden of pink, orange and rust, with patterned linens, lounge seating and bold faux florals framing a vibrant Tex-Mex menu. The room felt alive, not only with color, but with the sound of professionals exchanging ideas, comparing experiences and finding common ground across different markets.

Country Club After Dark
By evening, the Omni putting green had been transformed for a playful reimagining of classic country club culture. Bold color, expressive fashion and a fully customized tent created an atmosphere that felt irreverent, stylish and completely unexpected. Guests leaned into the dress code with saturated hues and statement patterns while Curate Entertainment kept the energy high. The evening also carried real meaning, benefiting Wish Upon a Wedding and highlighting the organization’s work creating weddings for couples facing terminal illness or life-altering diagnoses. The duality of the event's joyful, fashion-forward vibe and deeply heartfelt mission made it on eof the most memorable nights.
“There’s something really special about being in a room filled with people who genuinely care about elevating the wedding industry and supporting one another. The energy was collaborative, inspiring, and just plain fun. My biggest takeaway is always how important this community is to each other, not just personally but professionally. The industry is so interconnected, and the relationships, referrals and support within this community truly are critical to success.” -- Brooke Beise, Iron Diamond Publisher

A National Moment for Iron Diamond
Tuesday brought a defining moment for the Iron Diamond team. Just before lunch, Sonja Babich announced that Iron Diamond, a new national wedding publication, will debut on newsstands in April 2027 (click here for more details). After days spent meeting new professionals, sharing the existing Iron Diamond titles and introducing the brand to a wider audience, the announcement felt especially meaningful. It was a chance to share not only where Iron Diamond has been, but where it is headed, in a room filled with the very people whose work and creativity continue to shape the wedding industry.

A Coastal Garden Lunch
Following Sonja's announcement of the Iron Diamond national magazine, a coastal-inspired lunch layered in hues of blue, green and white. Patterned linens, blue-and-white lamps, florals and relaxed lounge moments created a refined garden atmosphere, while guests gathered over crab cakes, poke bowls and live music. Each table featured Iron Diamond publications for attendees to browse and take home, turning the lunch into another natural point of connection between the publication and the wider wedding community.

Atelier: Where the Raw Becomes Refined
For the final evening, Julian Leaver led a team of professionals in transforming the gala into "Atelier," an exploration of creativity in its most tactile form. The concept played with the tension between unfinished and polished, pairing white florals with dress forms, pearls, ribbon, velvet, tulle and sculptural light installations. Guests entered through layers of draping before stepping into a space that felt equal parts fashion house, art installation and celebration. Live musicians first appeared only as shadows behind fabric before emerging into the crowd alongside the DJ, bringing the room fully to life. It was theatrical without feeling overdone, and artistic without losing the sense of celebration.
“Attending WIPA is such a great reminder to get out of our day-to-day routines and our own little bubbles. There is something so powerful about connecting with like-minded professionals who have a passion for weddings, want to keep learning and growing, and are excited to meet new ‘frendors’ along the way. There is ALWAYS a takeaway from events like this, and I truly believe so many walked away with an armful of new ideas, inspiration, education and connections. Bravo to the WIPA Board for continuing to bring our industry together and push us forward!”— Sonja Babich, Iron Diamond Owner + CEO
