Bold Colors Shine Bright at this Traditional Sikh Ceremony at Klentner Ranch
Wedding Date: March 23, 2019
Ashley Sekhon and Chris Linz’s bold, colorful wedding transformed the stately backdrop of Klentner Ranch into a fantastical garden for the evening. The groom kicked off the ceremony with a bang by entering on horseback, accompanied by live music and surrounded by his closest friends and family. The bride followed in an ornate silver gown and red headscarf. Set in the natural beauty of the Santa Barbara hills, the traditional Sikh ceremony brought together both families, as well as an English-speaking priest to ensure all of the guests could follow the proceedings.
When the guests entered the reception tent, they were transported to another world. Sheer, gauzy drapes and greenery hanging from the ceiling and the walls created a lush atmosphere. An abundance of color-blocked florals in vibrant shades of pink, orange, coral and lilac covered the surfaces. Towering centerpieces constructed of foliage and hanging bouquets created a sense of whimsy.
Ashley and Chris fell in love while in medical school, and now the two doctors practice medicine with a focus on cancer. Even on their special day, they wanted to help that cause: The dessert table was laden with treats made by the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer nonprofit organization, and the reception flowers were later donated to a local cancer center through the Dream Foundation’s Flower Empower program. The celebration’s ethereal mood lasted through the evening, as the couple and their guests spent the night dining and dancing under hanging Moroccan pendant lanterns.
