Wedding Date: May 4, 2019
While deciding where to hold their wedding, Janeen Bedard and Bob Drakulich felt it was important that they felt a personal connection to the space. As luck would have it, Janeen’s friend owns the gorgeous venue, The Lautner Compound in Desert Hot Springs, and her friend’s husband is also one of Bob’s best friends. The couple envisioned a bright, bold, fun celebration with their friends and families. They both displayed photos of their late grandparents, and each chose a principle embodied by their grandparents to include in their vows. Respect, selflessness, passion, sincerity, strength, tenderness and playfulness were virtues they promised to live by in honor of their loved ones. Janeen and Bob also valued having friends and family involved in different aspects of the wedding. One uncle became ordained so that he could legally unite the couple, while another created their welcome drink, the “Sweet Pea,” and Bob’s high school music teacher played guitar during the ceremony and the cocktail hour. Bob and Janeen cherish the moment they first locked eyes as she walked down the aisle as one of their favorite memories of the day, along with the epic speeches made by their fathers and siblings.
