An inspirational road trip through California was the theme for our annual Best of 2018 gala at Vibiana. Teams of designers came together to create beautifully designed sections of the historic former cathedral nestled in bustling downtown Los Angeles. More than 500 guests began their exploration of the bounty of the Golden State in Vibiana's outdoor courtyard where the team lead by Amber Events and florist The Bloemist put the pedal to the metal with the wedding planner's ultimate nod to road-tripping. Channel your inner flower child with this black Fiat bursting with vibrant citrus, pink and red-hued florals. "We had lush peonies and exotic greenery spilling out of the car," says Amber Events' Nira Fisher. "And throughout the courtyard, we had acrylic boxes with matching florals inside of them. We tied this theme together with the fantastic furniture pieces from Theoni Collection as well as the vibrant Neon signs from Nights of Neon. Beth from Theoni helped conceptualize the cowhide chairs and the exposed wooden pieces for the bar and lounge."
Guest mingled, enjoying lounge seating and specialty cocktails infused with spirits from Greenbar Distillery and inspired by the regions of California. Plus, tray-passed appetizers from Chef Neal Fraser included Crostini with Pea Remoulade, Burrata and Mint, Crispy Artichoke with Lemon Aioli and Romesco Bread Crumbs, Vietnamese Watermelon Salad, Ginger Cashews and Duck Prosciutto Wrapped Scallop with Green Garlic Nage. Kicking off the ceremony was the talented vocalists Damian Lawson from MJ Entertainment.
