Tara and Kevin's stunning wedding at the Malibu West Beach Club was a beautiful affair with incredible decor and details. The day was filled with all things pretty, including gorgeous blue-hued Jenny Yoo bridesmaids gowns and chic beach-inspired palm leaves. The two were wed beneath a unique ceremony arbor overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and the lovely reception area showcased the most beautiful table decor, florals and elegant pops of gold. What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?
"Pre-engagement, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding to look like. I had Pinterest boards a mile long, and all these ideas of what I wanted the day to look like, but when it came down to making decisions the only thing that remained was "semi-outdoor" wedding. When wedding planning became "real" it became more about who would be there, what our timeline of events would look like, and the experience as a whole. Don't get me wrong, I still was very focused on every single detail because that's the type of person I am, but we were very focused on making the wedding "us" and not a copy of a picture of someone else's wedding."

What was your color palette and your style vision?
"Kevin and I don't consider ourselves to be very high-maintenance people. We wanted a 150-ish person wedding with the vibes of a low-key, California coastal wedding. We were thinking “beach wedding, but not beach themed" aka lots of natural beach colors and some palm leaf elements, but no seashells or starfish. We also love pineapples since they symbolize warmth and friendliness (two traits that we value in regards to our home and friendships) so we love that Bloom Babes was able to incorporate that into our florals!"

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?
"The pineapples and the signage were definitely the most tailored to us. @Tara_Typography was born from making wedding signs for friends, and friends of friends, so making my own weddings signs and designing my invitations were ALWAYS a must."

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite crafted detail?
"Kevin and I opted for a classic first look, to take place when I walked down the aisle. I even requested that he put his head down after the bridesmaids, and that the best man would nudge him to look up when I got to the aisle. Seeing him look up before I started walking is a moment I will never forget. We were both immediately emotional because it felt like everything from our 8 years together had led to this moment, this one raw, emotional, romantic moment between two people who are so completely in love (and I tear up just replaying the moment in my head)!"

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.
"Bloom Babes’ floral arrangements were better than I could have ever imagined! I think I told them “organic/natural vibes, tropical, love succulents…GO (oh and we love pineapples)” and they ran with it. Those ladies somehow knew exactly what that meant and did an absolutely fantastic job." I LOVE my wedding dress. It was the perfect amount of boho+bridal for me, and SO comfortable especially since my tailor (http://www.bridalmd.com/) is the absolute best and made it fit like a glove. Kevin and I are food people, and we ultimately decided giving away food was the way to go. We went with X- and O-shaped donuts (from Krispy Kreme) which we hear was a hit! We also had a tray of fun sunglasses for the ceremony, since we knew it might be bright facing the sunset."

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?
"The most valuable advice given to me was “don’t forget to pause and take it all in.” Even during the engagement, it’s easy to fly through the wedding planning, engagement parties, showers, etc. but don’t forget to enjoy those moments, too! The whole wedding weekend went by so quickly, I’m so glad that I did take time here and there to pause and commit so many great moments to memory."
