What began as a college friendship between Cristabel and Martín transformed into something more after a spontaneous night out years after graduation. By 2019, the two were inseparable, traveling often and bringing their pup, Milos, along whenever possible. A proposal in Washington, DC, disguised as a scavenger hunt and unfolding in the pouring rain, marked a cinematic crescendo for their relationship and the start of their planning journey.
For their nuptials, the couple invited 48 of their closest family and friends to Santa Barbara for an intimate courthouse ceremony followed by dinner. A vintage car framed their coastal first look, and private vows before guests gathered beneath the ornate arches of the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
At Villa & Vine, a deep green palette—subtly inspired by Martín’s eyes—anchored the courtyard’s design. The bride handmade pottery and candleholders for each guest, symbolic of the fire at the center of their relationship and paired each piece with a personal thank-you note featuring a meaningful photograph from their life together. Whimsical florals accented with grapes added texture and personality to the tablescapes.
“Do what feels right for you and stay united with your partner,” shares Cristabel. “Remember, you are a team, and the day is about both of you.”
