The Portofino Hotel & Marina in Redondo Beach is putting a pawsitively adorable twist on wedding planning. In honor of National Dog Day tomorrow, August 26, the oceanfront boutique hotel has partnered with New York-based accessories designer Susan Alexandra to launch a pup-friendly wedding giveaway valued at over $1,500.

One lucky couple will win a weekend stay during The Portofino’s “I Do, Preview” wedding showcase, taking place September 19–21, 2025, and receive a whimsical handmade “I Do” dog leash — perfect for four-legged ring bearers and flower pups.

To enter, dog-loving couples can follow @portofinohotel and @susan_alexandra on Instagram, tag their partner (or pup’s IG handle), and share why they’d love to visit The Portofino. A bonus entry is earned by reposting to Stories. The winner will be announced on September 3 via the hotel’s Instagram.

Adding to the initiative, The Portofino will donate $1 per entry (up to $500) to A Purposeful Rescue, an L.A.-based nonprofit helping overlooked dogs find loving homes.

Even after the giveaway, the love for furry guests continues: Couples who book a 2026 wedding at The Portofino and include their pet in the celebration will receive a complimentary Susan Alexandra leash as a wedding-day amenity.
