Fresh and romantic, Celia and Andre’s wedding at The Garland celebrated their Mexican, Armenian, and Lebanese heritage with meaningful traditions and personal touches in the hotel’s serene gardens. The night before, both Andre and Celia honored Armenian custom by spending time with their parents. Their ceremony, led by a Maronite Catholic priest, reflected Andre’s Lebanese roots and Celia’s Roman Catholic upbringing, and included a Latin lasso ritual symbolizing their everlasting love.
The celebration continued with a cocktail hour as the Mariachi Divas serenaded guests. Newlyweds made a grand entrance with a traditional Armenian dance, joined by family and friends on the dance floor. The reception’s olive and ivory décor was filled with unique details, from table linens with subtle bird motifs—a nod to Celia’s love for birds—to gold flatware and handmade ceramic shot glasses from Puebla, Mexico. Their three-tiered cake featured playful figurines of their favorite Nintendo characters.
“Our guests complimented us on how well we had blended our different cultures,” says the couple. “And we have all of our vendors and our lovely priest, Father Etienne Hanna, to thank for making this possible.”
