A Dramatic Cake Display

For Ana Heller’s Pelican Hill wedding reception, Orange County florist Nisie Vorachard of Nisie’s Enchanted Florist created a cake display with major wow factor: It hung suspended from a baby’s-breath-covered chandelier. “Nisie gave me the idea, and once I heard about it, I simply had to have it. It truly looked like it was floating on a cloud,” Heller says. Vorachard draped all the chandeliers in the ballroom in baby’s breath, creating floor-to-ceiling texture and drama.

They chose baby’s breath for its classic look and lightness. But it was the cake presentation that really took the, well, cake. In addition to being hung from the chandelier, more baby’s breath covered the cake base, giving it “a very dreamy and whimsical look,” Vorachard says. “When the ballroom doors opened, my guests were in awe and gravitated straight to the cake to take photos,” Heller says. “I was also blown away by how beautiful it looked; it was even better than I had imagined.”
