Recently Robin Roberts stepped away from her usual role as host of Good Morning America to tie the knot with her partner Amber. Robin and Amber Laign wed in an intimate backyard ceremony at their shared home in Connecticut this year in September, and the design was a spectacular showcase of their love for each other. JoAnn Gregoli planned the event with a keen eye for details to actualize an enchanted garden ambiance for the couple who celebrated official matrimony, though the previous 18 years together since their initial connection in 2005 had solidified their genuine love.

For their backyard wedding, Robin and Amber's Farmington home was transformed into a vision of elegance, while meaningfully incorporating the shared property showcasing the couple's history. Save the dates and invitation suites opted for a unique sustainable twist, allowing guests to literally plant them, which inspired a sunset-hued palette for the entire day's design. The ceremony was an intimate affair that brought together close family and friends and was set in front of Robin's "Momma's Bench," a beloved ode to her mother.

The bench was adorned with a gentle display of roses that complemented the blend of southern and northern floral styles on display. A key idea was to meld Robin's southern roots with the couple's modern life in New York, something that translated into décor and design details. Florals designed by Jen Gould Designs were lining the aisle bringing extravagant texture into the mix and solidifying the enchanting feel, and moss took center stage in much of the décor. The epitome of a garden fantasy, moss was highlighted in the reception with moss walls and ethereal trees framing each side. Elegant soft lighting brought a slight moody twinge and set the tone for a night of festivities.

The brides were both visions in white in custom Badgley Miska gowns, each designed to specifically fit Robin and Amber's personal styles. Robin opted for a slightly more form-fitting shape with a bedazzled neckline, and Amber was a beauty in an elegantly draped silhouette with a fuller skirt. For their evening reception, the duo changed into Badgley Miska jumpsuits to stay comfortable during their night of celebration and dancing.

Wedding planner JoAnn Gregoli said the day was enhanced immensely by the special touches Robin and Amber brought to the event and the surprises and love they had for each other. A stunning range of photos by Chris J. Evans captured the raw emotion and beauty of the entire event, from start to finish. It was a meld of locale and geography that captured the story of Robin and Amber, and a unique vision of inspiration for nearlyweds.
