When Carlon Haywood decided to propose to Aasha Swamy, he made it a point to include both of their families in the big moment. He called Aasha’s parents and brother to let them know what he was planning, and then surprised Aasha at a game night with his family by sneaking the proposal right into one of the games. The stunning seaside locale of Terranea Resort was the perfect venue for their grand, family-focused affair. Aasha adores purple, and once she found beautiful plum-colored linens from Luxe Linen, it was an easy choice to design the rest of the day around them. Carlon and Aasha included a variety of elements in celebration of Aasha’s Indian heritage, such as elephants, on everything: the cake, place card holders, the gorgeous floral form at the beginning of the aisle, and the mehndi drawn on Aasha, her mother and her bridesmaids. To make the event even more special, Aasha’s brother sang “The Way You Look Tonight” for the father-daughter dance, and the couple was able to have their dog, Hulk, attend as their dog of honor.
