Amanda Apelian and Jeff Saroyan had a very clear vision for their nuptials: a James Bond wedding based in the 1950s. Specifically derived from the movies "Casino Royale," "Diamonds are Forever" and "Gold Finger," the couple wanted to evoke the effortless and old-school elegance of their favorite iconic character. The duo is aptly known by friends and family as an "old soul couple," and a theme of white, black and burgundy oozed old Hollywood and classic retro glam. Planned by Natalie Sofer of Natalie Sofer Weddings and Events, the ceremony brought a more clean-cut take to the design, with dramatic floral arcs and circular installments featuring lavish white orchids, hydrangeas and roses. Flora and fauna collided with two white swans positioned toward the start of the aisle, a symbol of loyalty in marriage. For her walk down the aisle, bride Amanda wowed in a dramatic silhouette. Her bouquet featured one of her late grandfather's paintbrushes, a nod to his artistry and influence. After a touching ceremony, the couple made what some might consider a "heroic" exit as Superman's theme song escorted the newlyweds down the aisle - an electrifying surprise from bride Amanda for groom Jeff. For their reception, a grand ballroom became the home to an opulent and timeless celebration. Mirrored topped tables, candlelight and black tablecloths added a soft glow to the space while keeping to the 007 theme. Bond references were melded into the design, with Amanda designing the original 007 logo with their last name and cocktail menus based on quotes and movie titles. Truly adding the wow factor, Jeff's 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera greeted guests as they entered the reception - the same model that was used in the last Bond movie! Live performers transported guests back in time and the bold, vintage influences in the space were truly show-stopping. Dramatic whites, blacks and burgundies framed a dazzling event that had every guest transported into a different decade.
