Kenzie and Blake held their November wedding in the Pavillion at the Indian Wells Golf Resort, bringing a lush, modern design to a desert backdrop. Their nuptials embraced a striking color palette of deep purples and taupe hues in ways that kept their design centered around a contemporary vision with a sophisticated ambience. A foundation of classic black and white formality served as a base to add in these playful and stylized pops of color throughout the day, which was adeptly designed and planned by Grace & Gold Events.
Florals were a key element, crafted by Emma Seitz of Leta Verbena to seamlessly integrate into décor and other details. One standout detail was Kenzie's bouquet, a statuesque accessory made up of purple Jeff Leatham vanda orchids that Seitz described as "devastatingly dramatic." It was a creative take on the monobloom bouquet style centered around a single variety, but retained so much versatility and statement within the texture and color of the orchid. While lilac has been a popular color for weddings, deeper hues of the shade are not as common, but add such a regal and moody edge as embodied by this entire design. An all-white floral altar constructed of two columns was an ethereal backdrop for the ceremony infused with lovely hints of purple in the bridal party and bouquet florals.
The reception took place in the ballroom, featuring a dramatic overhead installation that melded greenery with disco balls. Tablescapes echoed this aura with luxurious design elements coming together to meld the color palette of the day with sleek white, soft pinks and burnt oranges. Seitz said, "All of the tablescapes were both heavy in flowers and candles, but with a unique palette of pure white, dark purple and taupe, featuring anemones, orchids and anthuriums." Kenzie's first look featured an elegant boat-neck gown with a mermaid silhouette that was a gorgeous compliment to Blake's dapper black tuxedo and bow-tie combination. A second look was a glamorous on-trend mini dress and a pair of Vans sneakers, which made for a grandiose exit look.
