Marvimon Productions: A Tour of Downtown LA's Most Creative Trio of Venues

The interior of Grass Room, one of Marvimon's venues in downtown L.A.

Each of Marvimon Productions' downtown L.A. venues is unique in its own way, but they all flow from a common vision: Bringing life to old and neglected spaces with plants, love and a few unexpected surprises.

The California Wedding Day team and our members recently got a chance to experience Marvimon’s magic firsthand at their trio of Noth Sea District venues—Flora Chang, Valentine and Grass Room. This exclusive event featured craft cocktails from The Whaling Club and Whoa Nelly’s exquisitely curated cuisine, each step of the way. Take a tour with us from space to space as we walk you through our wild night—don't worry about your heels, they're all on the same block.

Flora Chang

The party kicked off with an exclusive dining experience at Marvimon’s most intimate venue, Flora Chang. The venue’s custom wood dining tables, framed in copper, were filled with exotic and inspired arrangements of peach anthuriums, red bananas, and lychee from Holly Flora, nestled amongst hand-crafted ceramics by Tony Brown, Josh Beckman and Fanny PennyThe tablescape design, by the event’s producers, Round Town Events, featured earth-toned linens from Luxe and natural stone colored table settings with pops of pale coral glassware from La Piñata. Prim + Prixie provided custom menus as well as dried floral smudge stick place cards to complete the look and generate good vibes. Guests were treated to seasonal and local fare by Whoa Nelly and enjoyed cocktails shaken up by The Whaling Club, while listening to tunes from SuperMoon DJs.

Valentine

After dinner, guests made their way to Valentine to join the shindig where DJ Lady Sinclairaccompanied by a live percussionist, brought Marvimon Productions’ grandest location to life. The Whaling Club had draught craft cocktails flowing, and attendees posed for portraits in front of the venue’s signature pink jungle keyhole mural. An interactive station let guests embrace their inner artist, creating collaborative paintings that were later raffled off.

Grass Room

Just as the party started getting wild, funk and soul covers from MJ Band filled the room and lured guests through a secret door into Valentine’s sister venue, Grass Room. Bountiful grazing tables from Whoa Nelly and an aquatic-themed dessert station by Fantasy Frostings awaited guests. A Jenny Smith and Co. photo booth outfitted with custom made animal masks complemented the venue’s wildlife vibe. Guests sipped craft beer in custom wrapped cans from Eliqs, enjoyed tarot card readings from Davida Rappaport in the Madonna Room, tried their hand at virtual reality painting and games and danced under a cloud of disco balls installed by Stage Labs. To end the evening on a high note, guests hit Grass Room’s back patio for Soho Tacos and a CBD and Cannabis vape bar from Grassfed LA and the Art of Edibles
