Located in the glamorous city of Palm Springs, the Trixie Motel radiates a captivating pink allure. Founded by Trixie Mattel, season-three winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” and a pop culture icon, the property stands proudly as a beacon of retro charm, featuring themed rooms and a luxurious pool area. Inspired by the elegance of Old Hollywood and the spirit of Palm Springs, Frank Shaver-Burgess, owner and lead planner of Events by Frank, crafted this lively, maximalist wedding design. Drawn from the glam aesthetic of drag performers, jewel tones and soft pink hues form a unique color palette that embodies the essence of Palm Springs. The attire, featuring a playful suit from Mr. Turk adorned with a floral lapel and an elegant black tux, emphasizes the concept’s statement-making ethos. Daring botanicals, custom textures and disco balls complement the venue’s vibrant ambiance. “Some may look at the very pink Trixie Motel and think it could be challenging to design a wedding, but the trick was to lean into it and let the bold backdrop work in our favor and the design,” Shaver-Burgess says. “In this case, the wedding design and the venue are costars, not enemies.”
