After many years of dating, Daniella Hovsepian and Garen Karimian were more than ready to tie the knot, so Garen planned a surprise trip to Paradise Point Resort & Spa that culminated in a private ocean boat charter and a proposal. Going into the wedding-planning process, Daniella knew she wanted a wedding with a “timeless, elegant design, and a black and gold color scheme—all with a modern twist.” The couple chose Hummingbird Nest Ranch for its sweeping mountain views, abundant greenery and understated elegance. As a string quartet played, the bride’s entrance in an off-the-shoulder ball gown dazzled the guests. In keeping with the theme, the groom wore a black and white tuxedo, the maid of honor sparkled in a gold gown, and the bridal party wore hunter green. In lieu of an arbor, the couple tied the knot under a dreamy draping of gauzy cream fabric suspended from Hummingbird’s eucalyptus trees. Daniella’s vision came alive with reception tables decked in black tablecloths, gilded tableware, black satin napkins and a single white rose atop each plate. Tiered white floral arrangements with gilded foliage adorned the tables. The couple watched their guests enjoy the night from a sweetheart table fit for royalty, flanked by giant gold candlesticks, crystal chandeliers and a profusion of white blooms. After the newlyweds cut into the seven-tier, gold-trimmed cake, guests danced on a custom-monogrammed black, white and gold dance floor. Says Garen, “Our favorite moment was witnessing how much our guests enjoyed our night.”
