Laura and Zachary's wedding fête at Redbird in downtown Los Angeles elegantly paired black and white formality with contemporary fashion and décor pieces. The initial vision for the couple was to host their wedding in Italy, France or Los Angeles; and Redbird offered a unique atmosphere with European inspired elements. The day centered around an aura of nontraditional aspects; the couple was focused on keeping things true to their style and personas. Redbird also offered an urban allure, featuring a modern garden oasis amidst the city's bustling action, which spoke to Laura and Zachary's love for travel and style.
My goal was to play with unique, sophisticated, simple and yet unexpected details. I wanted to tastefully mix historic character with modern simplicity, all while retaining an undercurrent of sophistication. You saw this a lot in our fashion — I opted for black Alexander McQueen heels, paired with an overly long cathedral train on my hammered silk dress from London. Zachary is a huge YSL fan, so he pulled inspiration from the French fashion house, Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford when creating his tux.

Fashion was a central focal point of the day, with our bride and groom adorned in elevated pieces. As a graphic designer herself, Laura designed all the print goods at the event and their wedding website with a careful focus on nuanced details and sophistication. The ceremony took place underneath Redbird's grove of olive trees where an aisle was lined with white flora and chairs facing our bride and groom as they made their respective entrances. For the reception, smaller banquet tables created an intimate ambience for an alfresco dinner in the courtyard that integrated pops of sage green into the black and white design. Tablescapes opted for understated glam, featuring crisp lines and translucent bud vases and unique grey menus at each seat. As dinner winded down, bride Laura changed into a jaw-dropping second look that featured a graceful cowl neck and plunging low back to dance the night away. The duo also borrowed a friend's 1957 Porsche Speedster, which made for gorgeous photos outside of the former cathedral that is Redbird. A modern interpretation of photography tied the entire day together, featuring a gorgeous display of photos showcasing our couple and the venue's grounds.
