Dave and Christine connected at their respective friends’ combined bachelor/bachelorette party in Las Vegas. And though they were worlds apart, with Dave in Melbourne, Australia, and Christine living in Los Angeles, they regularly made the 15-hour flight to see each another. After two years, Christina moved to Australia, and a year later, Dave proposed. With guests invited to the wedding from around the world, the couple wanted a quintessential California setting, and Quail Ranch delivered with its towering oak, pine and citrus trees overlooking a working avocado farm. The couple’s ceremony included an Australian tradition by which they signed the marriage certificate in front of their guests, marking the moment the union was legally binding; and an acoustic version of “Big Jet Plane,” as a nod to their international travels. Inspired by the rustic setting and Spanish Revival estate, the reception embraced the beauty of their surroundings and opted for a garden atmosphere with organic Spanish touches. Feasting tables draped in sheer runners and neutral linens were adorned with romantic flowers loosely strewn about. The centerpieces were copper and gold-footed vases with coral and peach ranunculus blended with cream peonies and touches of greenery. Adding to the ambiance were Spanish accents such as an iron escort card display, a bar with Spanish tile and a vintage-tiled cake stand.
