Jessica Butler and Anthony Orlando became acquainted through a mutual friend at the University of Pennsylvania, but it was at the Class of 2010’s five-year reunion that Anthony convinced Jessica to consider making Los Angeles her home. After Jessica accepted a job offer in LA, the two began exploring the city together. They later realized how much they relied on each other and had their first date in January 2016. Anthony proposed along the towering cliffs of Palos Verdes on the following New Year’s Eve. The birthplace of their love story and newfound hometown inspired a wedding theme of a modern version of old Hollywood, with fusions of Art Deco and historic architecture. Vibiana, in downtown Los Angeles, was their ideal venue, boasting a mix of architectural integrity, history, and with impeccable food and beverage design by owner and chef Neal Fraser’s team. The baroque-inspired stonework was covered in hunter greens and regal golds. Foliage of various geometric shapes and sizes composed a uniquely near-flowerless backdrop. For the ceremony program, the groom curated a momentous screenplay to represent the couple’s past, present and future. The story included quotes from their parents read by their closest friends and siblings. The bride, groom and guests entered along three aisles, which represented their individual paths, with the center aisle serving as a symbolic exit for the couple in their new union as husband and wife.
