Chantal Kazandjian and Teddy Kazarian grew up together, remaining close friends throughout their childhoods. They began dating in college and got engaged on New Year’s Eve, surrounded by close friends. Chantal and Teddy wanted a vacation-like wedding and found the Monarch Beach Resort to be the perfect venue for their celebration. For the design, their florist and event designer, Eddie Zaratsian, focused primarily on warm floral pieces, such as the ombre flower petals that carpeted the aisle and the reception centerpieces, which were arranged to appear as though they were growing out of the tables. The dining tables featured a mix of low and high floral arrangements composed of an abundance of orchids, hydrangeas, roses and peonies, which either flowed across the tables or rose majestically from tall glass vases.
To honor the couple’s shared Armenian heritage and traditions, Teddy wore green and red ribbons during the ceremony that had been placed on him by his grandmothers to symbolize peace, life and sacrifice. The couple’s biggest priority, though, was to create a fun atmosphere with great food and music. They even customized a tasting menu for their dinner, because, as Chantal says, “We are true foodies.”
