Australian couple Evonne Loh and Austin Gan envisioned a relaxed and beautiful elopement in sunny Southern California. Ojai was the original location, but when the Thomas Fire began just days before they were set to marry, their wedding planners, Kelly Clark Leonard and Cassidy Rios of Event of the Season, did some fast work and relocated the wedding to the charming Maravilla Gardens. Though they craved a private and magical day to themselves, the couple still wanted a traditional wedding, from invitations to a first dance. They saw a detailed vision board during the planning stage, but the outcome was a surprise, and their team of vendors peppered thoughtful touches throughout the night, such as monogrammed napkins. Evonne walked down the candle-lined aisle to live music performed by Jedaworks Music and met Austin beneath a wooden arbor accented with lush teal velvet and blush-hued florals. After the ceremony, Evonne and Austin made their way to a lovely private lounge in the garden for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before sharing their first dance as wife and husband. In a courtyard with sweeping mountain vistas, the couple dined at a delicately designed table set with a flowing velvet runner, carved wooden chargers, delicate china, antique silverware, all from Theoni Collection, and sweeping florals from Knot Just Flowers. The bride and groom enjoyed a romantic two-course dinner prepared by chef Robin Goldstein. A cake adorned with blossoms was followed by gourmet truffles and tea to complete the romantic evening for the two.
