Dana and Evan met in their senior year at Penn State when they attended a philanthropy event jointly hosted by her sorority and his fraternity. The two have been inseparable ever since. Family is extremely important to Dana. Evan had her engagement ring made by her family’s jeweler with diamonds from her grandmother’s ring. The veil Dana wore was also an heirloom from her grandmother and had been originally worn by her at her wedding in Belgium many years before. For the father-daughter dance, Evan recorded an acoustic version of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” with Dana’s father.
It was love at first sight when the couple laid eyes on the beauty of Rancho Las Lomas. The stunning Spanish tiles, craft beers provided by the venue and the onsite exotic animal zoo won them over right away. They took inspiration from the style of the space for their design, which included escort cards handwritten on real leaves and an abundance of blue. As a personal touch, Dana and her mom handcrafted ceramic blue place settings at Costa Mesa Ceramics Studio and marked each plate on the bottom with an “S” for Schwartz. The bridesmaids stunned in blue gowns and Dana finished off her own look with a pair of sapphire earrings and a matching bracelet from her mother. Evan’s favorite part of the reception was the live band. The couple chose SEGA Genocide, a 90s rock band, to get the party going. They even took the stage together at one point to serenade their loved ones.
