Racquel and Marc's wedding may have been pushed back and downsized due to COVID-19 restrictions, but nevertheless, the ceremony was just as beautiful and enchanting as their original plans.
Katie and Steve: Winter White Beauty at Calamigos Ranch
Every aspect of Katie and Steve’s Malibu wedding was far from traditional. Despite residing in California, the couple can’t stand the heat and immediately agreed that a “warm” wedding was out of the question. With that in mind, the team from Amber Events set out to transform Calamigos Ranch into a winter wonderland. The gorgeous surrounding trees, trickling streams and impressive wood-burning fireplace served as inspiration, and, in lieu of a standard color scheme, the couple affectionately referred to their natural color palette as “river rock.” The eye-catching bouquets and floral displays contained very few flowers, but were bursting with earthy ingredients such as moss, mushrooms, birch stumps, and seasonal winter greens and berries. An image of a tree became a beautiful guest book and keepsake.
Personal touches played an important role for Katie and Steve, and included thoughtful additions such as a card placed in front of each guest’s seat with a handwritten note from Katie on one side and Steve on the other. Katie also had her grandmother’s delicate handkerchief embroidered with pieces from her own dress and her mother’s wedding dresses, and surprised her mom with the heartwarming gift before the ceremony. Their cozy California winter wedding was simply an enchanting evening.
