California Wedding Day Spring/Summer 2022

Change is in the air for 2022 as the world awakens from the pandemic and we begin the year with a fresh start and new hope. And we’ve made some changes here at California Wedding Day as well. We’ve added new team members: managing editor Chelsea Gibson, and associate editors Emily Sweet and Sara Hubbard.

With an energetic new team in place, we are looking forward to discovering, inspiring, reinventing and celebrating love with every turn of the page. As you look toward the future, there is no better way to start a new chapter with your significant other than to share your love with Mother Earth. To help you, we’ve unearthed 8 environmentally conscientious venues; from chic new hotels to historic venues and outdoor beauties, we’ve discovered wonderfully green places to wed for every Earth-loving soul. In addition, we’ve packed these pages with inspiration for planning your big day, such as stylish real weddings, ranging from backyard bashes to luxury affairs; cool ideas, including Instagram backdrops; tips for picking a theme; and so much more. One of my favorite features looks at how the classic color white can be modern and chic while remaining eternal.

Of course, we have fashion that goes on forever—just turn to our breathtaking editorial at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows for wedding gowns that will make your heart skip a beat. Most of all, what stands out for me are the beauty and joy in each and every page. Sharing the work of wedding professionals who are bringing love to life—especially after the past year of postponements—is what makes my job one of the best. I hope that this issue is as inspiring to you as it is for me.
