On a morning in March, Los Angeles surprised Charlotte and Kevin with something rare — a downpour. While most Angelenos ducked for cover, the couple embraced the storm, slipping into wedding attire and driving themselves through slick Beverly Hills streets to City Hall. Their plan was simple: a quiet legal ceremony before their larger wedding celebration in France. Friends and family weren't told the exact date — they wanted the moment to feel wholly their own.

When day dawned on the city, the bride made a beeline for the Trader Joe's flower selection, on the hunt for fresh greenery and white blooms. Verdure in hand, she built her own bouquet at home before heading to Drybar for a sleek blowout. She did her own makeup with practiced ease, favoring what felt most like herself. Back in their apartment, the two got ready side by side, music playing and their cat Kimmi nearby — a ritual that calmed any pre-wedding jitters.

True to her French heritage, Charlotte exuded that "effortlessly chic" look with an ivory two-piece skirt paired with a blazer in the same shade, finished with another Franco-accessory: the Jean Dousset lab-grown diamond ring she and Kevin had designed together. Kevin, ever timeless, donned a tailored light gray suit with a crisp white shirt and slim black tie.

The ceremony itself exceeded their wildest expectations. City Hall vows are often thought of as generic, but the couple's officiant infused the exchange with warmth and personality. Their photographer stood as the sole witness, capturing everything from the "I dos" to the newlyweds' jaunt through rain-splashed streets.

For Charlotte and Kevin, the day also reflected their shared history with Los Angeles. They had first met eight years earlier at Bar Lubitsch on Santa Monica Boulevard, and they followed their courthouse vows with dinner (and champagne) at Robata JINYA on West Third Street — it all felt like a love letter to the city that hosted their story. Still in full wedding regalia, they toasted for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. — tourists and locals alike smiling on.
