Tropical, Desert Style Infuses Inaugural Wedding at Drift Palm Springs Hotel

Lil Newman and Michael Silberstein wed last fall at Drift Palm Springs, a delightful boutique hotel nestled in the desert's lively downtown. The nuptials served as the recently-opened hotel's inaugural wedding day, where Director of Marketing for Drift Hotels Lil tied the knot at the same stylish venue she helped actualize. The weekend optimized the boutique hotel's stylish accommodations, featuring a welcome party in the bar on Friday, gorgeous Saturday wedding and a celebratory post-wedding pool party on Sunday among the venue's modern architecture and desert style. As a nod to their early dates going to concerts and listening to vinyls, the theme of music made its way into the day's details. The destination wedding pulled inspiration from mountain and arid landscapes to create a design that complimented the desert backdrop with a bold twist, featuring luscious hues of pink and orange, which were chosen to echo a local sunset. Our bridal party embraced different colors and styles with a cohesive vibe, and photos among palm trees with vintage sunglasses made for an epic photo-op. The dress code for the weekend was 'desert chic,' and guests understood the assignment, making for an ultra-fashionable wedding day that allowed everyone to highlight a little bit of their own individuality. Our couple were both effortlessly cool in their looks, with Michael looking dapper in a suit and Lil radiating beauty in a halter-neck gown. Floral design by Wheelhouse Design & Florals paired vibrant tropical blooms with more traditional roses in hues ranging from bold pinks to soft buttercups. For the reception, curated banquet tables framed a dance floor lined by dainty string lights. True to the aforementioned theme, the wedding featured music-infused aspects with a DJ spinning vinyl alongside musicians from Dart Collective, a vinyl-themed guest book where loved ones could add a song to the couples "wedding soundtrack" and a silent disco ending the night. Signage also incorporated the theme, featuring coral cocktail napkins with some of Lil and Michael's favorite song lyrics on them, including lines from the likes of Zeppelin classics.
