Stunning ocean views set the scene for the mansion-turned-gallery that is the Long Beach Museum of Art.

Established in 1957, the museum has hosted innumerable weddings for couples that embrace the extraordinary. The Elizabeth Milbank Anderson House, built in 1911, is a stunning craftsman home with views extending all the way to Catalina Island and the Queen Mary and is the focal point of the property.

The museum can host up to 150 guests in its outdoor ceremony space, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. During cocktail hour, guests can peruse the extensive art collection and gardens, which, along with the stunning brick facade of the home, serve as excellent photo backdrops. The museum’s stunning sculpture garden features 12 pieces that have been installed over the garden’s 70 years.

The permanent collection has been curated over seven decades and features early Southern California modernists, early European modernists in all media except photography. It also boasts nearly 500 ceramic works whose origins span space and time: hailing from Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States and dating back to the 17th century.

The recently acquired LBMA Downtown campus offers a museum locale for couples with more urban sensibilities. Located in the heart of the East Village Arts District, the space features 35-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, polished concrete floors and loads of natural light for a modern look anchored by exceptional art.

Catering at both locations is provided by Claire’s, the museum’s own restaurant. The chefs at the museum are equipped to prepare tray-passed hors d’oeuvres, seated dinners, artisanal cocktails and everything in between. Choose from lamb chops, gruyere cheese puffs and any number of other gourmet options to indulge in.
