Stylish Dreams: Two Brides Share Their Path to Finding the Perfect Wedding Gown

Trends

There's nothing we love more than a bride that makes a personal statement with her style on her wedding day. And it doesn't have to be something crazy like a black or bright red wedding gown, sometimes it's a simple addition of a homemade hair piece or a dress that honors your culture. And finding the perfect gown is just part of the marital journey, that perfect moment every newly engaged girl dreams about: finding the one, your dream weddeing dress. Here are three bridal looks that encapsulate the journey to the aisle.

Meeta Iatel in an Anish Malhotra Sari from Sagar Exclusive and Claire Pettibone’s “Amelie” from Bliss Bridal in Del Mar (pictured above)

“I wanted to incorporate an indian aesthetic, but felt pressured to settle for a red wedding sari. The owner knew I wasn’t thrilled and pulled out a one-of-a-kind sari that matched my style and venue perfectly—I immediately knew it was the one,” says Meeta Patel who incorporated two looks on her wedding day. “As an indian I had not grown up envisioning a white wedding dress. My wedding planner suggested Claire Pettibone and I immediately fell in love. There was something unique and captivating about the pink toile and high-low hem.”

Jennie Shin in Matthew Christopher’s “Bardot” from Here Comes The Bride in San Diego

“I knew it was the right dress when it took my breath away! My bridesmaids and I went around casually to a few wedding-dress boutiques and they chose the dress for me—it was the first wedding dress I tried on. I felt it mirrored my personality—happy with a bit of mischief.”
