Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs was the ideal locale for a wedding planners' retreat planned and designed by Nicole Alexandra Designs. California Wedding Day and Ingleside Inn, along with their sister property, Avalon Hotel, brought together the top planners from around California for an exclusive retreat celebrating all things Palm Springs. “When you arrive in the desert, you immediately feel relaxed," said Nicole. "And how fun is it to bring guests from all over to Palm Springs to enjoy the poolside vibes, great architecture, amazing restaurants...” Setting the tone for the upcoming festivities, guests were welcomed to the Ingleside with signature cocktails like the Desert Jewel and The Spicy Cactus with ice bearing the name of the drink or a palm tree logo created by Ice Bulb. Wedding industry professionals noshed on hors d’oeuvres and an irresistible charcuterie spread as Moses Lin Music played. Jill from Layered Vintage added disco balls to the cocktail hour space, creating a funky, yet refined design. “I feel like since a welcome party kicks off a multi-day event, we needed to have a little fun and start the party,” Jill said. “Disco has been super popular these last few years and we’ve done flowers in every style imaginable, so for this event we thought it would be fun to do up disco, but in a more subtle elevated way.” As the sun set in the desert oasis, synchronized swimmers, Aquabatix, put on an incredible performance.

Inspired by the classic Spanish architecture of the Ingleside Inn and the mid-century atmosphere of Palm Springs, Nicole combined the two styles with an array of textures and modern shapes. Inside the tent on the perfectly manicured grounds, rattan chairs and lighting created an organic, airy feel while bright florals from Leta Verbena added a touch of Spring. After a series of speeches, toasts and applause, the four-course dinner began at Avalon Hotel with vodka gimlets and heirloom tomato salads topped with burrata. The Chilean seabass was followed by New York “Diane” and dessert - lemon sorbet served on ice engraved by Ice Bulb with palm trees, along with caramel apple financiers and a stunning cake, all by Exquisite Desserts. The celebration continued with belly dancers and fire dancers which prompted guests to fill the dance floor as DJ Bryan from Let’s Party LA played music to end the evening.
