California’s Pacific Ocean is a constant muse for wedding design. From harborside happenings with nautical touches to barefoot celebrations in the sand to bohemian fêtes atop rugged sea cliffs, these inspired event designs breathe new life into a well-loved trend.
Two Wheelin’
From the aisle to the exit, brides today are coming up with clever ways to make a grand departure. When Scott Corridan of San Francisco–based Scott Corridan Design suggested a wedding exit on a cruiser bike, Melissa Wallstrom hesitated. “I was nervous when the idea of riding a bike in my wedding dress was first brought up, especially because it was a last-minute addition,” says Melissa, who married Andrew Wallstrom last August at High Camp atop Squaw Valley with a reception at Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn, “but it turned out to be a highlight of the night. Riding away under the stars with my new husband was truly a unique and magical experience.” Send your guests home with a smile and make your final farewell a lasting impression.
