Zola: The One Stop Shop For Your Perfectly Personalized Wedding Registry

Trends

Are you getting married? Do you love social media networking sites where you can connect with your friends and express your style? Do you have specific, yet wide-ranging taste? If you answered yes then Zola just might be the perfect wedding registry experience for you. Launched in late 2013 by the founder of Gilt Groupe, Kevin P. Ryan, with the help of some creative colleagues, this new registry wave targets millenials, claiming to be "An exciting new way for modern couples to register for homewares, kitchen equipment, furniture, food, bicycles, experiences, honeymoon funds and cash funds."

"Couples who sign up for Zola can choose from about 8,000 different products to add to their registries. Zola sells wedding registry mainstays like KitchenAid mixers and Waterford wine glasses. But it also allows couples to add the kind of stuff you won’t find at Macy’s or Crate & Barrel or Target" states Jason Del Ray in an article for Recode. In essence, Zola is a one-stop-shop where couples can curate everything they've been lusting after, from practical items, to fun experiences, to cash for the honeymoon.

On top of the funcionality and convenience, Zola is also fun to use and pretty to look at. It's like another social media platform in that you create your own personal profile, upload photos, and share about yourselves and the details of your registry wishlist. The app allows couples to add to (or remove from) their list with a simple swipe of their phone. They also offer suggestions and collections based on your personal style. “We think of it as the place where you go to build a wedding registry that is essentially you,” CEO Shan-Lyn Ma said in an interview.

We are loving this idea as a registry resource for our brides. So if you want to build your ultimate gift list of say, the perfect stemware, a massage package on your honeymoon, and a donation to a charity of your choice, all you need to do is get clicking!
