440 Elm offers an elegant historic ballroom for your luxury wedding reception ranging between 125 - 400 guests with a reception and dance floor. We can host ceremonies outdoors or indoors with your rental.

Built in 1913 by master architect Elmer Grey (Beverly Hills Hotel, Pasadena Playhouse, Huntington Library, Throop Polytechnic) in the Renaissance Revival style with many pieces from the Arts and Crafts movement, it has a grand ballroom that is one of the largest non-hotel ballrooms in the Southern California region. 30' coffered ceilings, bright multi-story stained glass, original Tiffany-style leaded glass doors, decadent chandeliers, an 1913 Ivers and Pond concert grand and a hand-carved organ grill concealing a 2500 pipe Murray-Harris organ. A matching outdoor Plaza creates an outdoor/ indoor wedding option for ceremony or cocktail hour. Multiple additional spaces exist including an exposed brick Parlor, Bride room, Groom room, 2 foyers, a side garden, and large bathrooms.

We are located centrally between Los Angeles and Orange Counties in downtown Long Beach.
